Commonly known as laughing gas, this odorless gas (mixed with at least 50% oxygen) is inhaled before procedures. This relaxes the patient but doesn't put you "to sleep" and is very safe. Nitrous Oxide has absolutely no residual effect and only affects you while inhaling the gas. We have found that Nitrous Oxide makes the dental procedure more relaxed and pleasant for most apprehensive patients.
